*prescription eyeglasses provided for review*
Long gone are the days when I have to wait years for a new pair of eyeglasses. I’ve had several insurance plans in the past that only allow a single pair of frames every two years and I could alternate to get a pair of contacts.
That’s just not enough, because if I ever lost a pair or ran out of contacts, I’d have to pay high out of pocket costs for replacements.
Fortunately, all that has changed over the years. Not the insurance plans, but the fact that companies are now selling eyeglasses online (contacts too), and I’m loving the choices.
Not only do I enjoy the convenience of being able to order my prescription lenses online, but I love the selection of frames available. There are plenty of options and with such decent prices, I can buy glasses to use at home and a pair of prescription sunglasses to leave in my car. I no longer worry about losing a pair.
I don’t know how optometrists feel about the online shops, but I know how I was feeling having to visit their brick and mortar practices to get my glasses. The last visit I had the doctor tried to convince me to spend a lot of money, and I was also pressured into agreeing to an appointment with traveling doctor for lasik surgery too.
I felt like they were acting too pressed and I’m not there to be up-sold…by anyone. It was an awful experience that left a bad taste in my mouth. I can’t stand having someone trying to empty my wallet on things I don’t need. Also, the doctor didn’t really want to share my written prescription with me. I was given every excuse under the stars for not needing it. I stood firm. After waiting a long time I did receive my prescription and I went on my way…to the World Wide Web.
Goodbye Brick and Mortars, Hello Internet Stores
Recently, I purchased new eyeglasses online at and the process was so easy. I love the glasses frames I selected, and I get compliments every time I wear them. The frames were inexpensive, but great quality and the design is priceless. I consider that to be all the upgrade I needed.
Check out these cute frames from GlassesShop.com. They sell for $45.95, but they always have great sales. If you stay posted to their website or sign up to their email updates, you could definitely snag these cuties for less. Read on for a deep discount code in this post today!
Try Them Before You Buy Them
What I love about buying frames online is being able to try them on models on the website or uploading my own personal picture to try on a few pair of the glasses. This is so helpful, because you can see exactly what the frames you choose are going to look like. This feature is perfect for those who might be hesitant to buy online. It took a while for me to do any type of personal shopping online simply because I didn’t want something to be shipped to me whether it be clothing glasses or shoes and they not fit.
Looking and Feeling Confident
With this being my third pair of glasses purchased online I’m pretty confident in the buying process and also with the selection. Now that I don’t have to worry about whether buying online will work out or not for me. I think the same goes for everybody else. Once you get your glasses, if you’ve measured your face properly and you’ve tried the glasses on virtually, using one of the website’s models or a personal picture of your own, you’ve done enough. You can feel confident that when your glasses arrive they’re going to be a good fit for you.
So, kudos to GlassesShop. I’m a fan and I’ll definitely be using them again in the future. Optometrist exams are necessary to have a current prescription, of course, but the $400 frames and pressure to buy more at brick and mortar shops isn’t.
